Role Description
What we’re looking for:
Are you a community minded individual with a passion for social impact and
innovation? As a Trustee of VGCC, you will play a vital role in guiding the strategic
direction of the organisation, ensuring its sustainability, and overseeing governance.
Trustees are responsible for ensuring VGCC remains true to its mission, operates
effectively, and continues to positively impact the community.
Drive the positive change you want to see in our local community and promote the
wellbeing of all individuals in North Lambeth whilst role modelling VGCCs values
particularly around wellbeing and collaboration through:
Key responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and governance for VGCC.
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and financial obligations.
Support the development and implementation of the Centre’s vision and
strategic plan.
Safeguard the reputation and values of VGCC.
Oversee financial management, ensuring sustainability and accountability.
Attend regular Trustee meetings (typically bi-monthly) and actively participate in
decision-making.
Provide support and guidance to the management team and staff.
Act as an ambassador for VGCC, engaging with stakeholders and fundraising efforts where possible.
Experience
We welcome applications from individuals with a passion for community engagement
and a commitment to VGCC’s mission. We are particularly interested in candidates
with experience in:
Charity governance and leadership
Finance, fundraising, or grant applications
Community development and stakeholder engagement
Marketing, communications, or digital strategy
Legal expertise (charity or property law beneficial)
Property management and facilities oversight
Digital skills, marketing and digital marketing
Business development
Finance & Accounting
Strategic development
Youth work including youth development, youth programming
No previous Trustee experience is required, and we are committed to fostering a
diverse and inclusive Board.
Time Commitment
Attend a minimum of six trustee meetings per year (held in person or online).
Occasional ad-hoc meetings or events as required.
Trustees serve on a voluntary basis; reasonable expenses may be reimbursed.
