Cool it Art turned 1 year old on the 10th of May, to celebrate this they held a birthday party during the Tuesday class on the 13th of May. It was well attended with over 80 people joining in the celebrations – completed with cupcakes and balloons! Vauxhall Trust put on a “St. George’s Day Festival” on the 26th April, 2014, complete with a fire breathing dragon, Medieval Knights battling, Morris Dancers, Archery, Falconry and much more – all on the Spring Gardens!
At the end of April our Over 60’s Club organised a coach trip, subsidised by the VGCC, to Blue Water Shopping Centre in Kent. The coach was a 49 seater and took local over 60’s in comfort to Blue Water for their shopping trip – with the success of this we hope to arrange another excursion in the Summer to the seaside!
Erik Rehl one of the Artists housed at the VGCC worked with a team of artists to facilitate a project on the “Colours of Blake” with students from Vauxhall Primary. CLS holdings funded the project and had the artworks created transposed onto to hoardings to decorate the site of the new development on 100, Vauxhall Walk.
On the 8th of March 2014, we hosted a family fun day in partnership with Well London, the event kicked off with a carnival parading around the estate provided by the SC Warriors from South Connections bringing everyone to the main event at the VGCC.
